The UniSC Student Guild is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting, representing and enriching the experience of students at UniSC, based primarily at the Sippy Downs campus.
Role Overview:We are searching for a supportive and professional team member to join our small but mighty team. The position is fixed-term, part-time (0.6FTE) Monday - Wednesday, but school hours are possible (9am - 3pm) for the right candidate. We offer a flexible leave policy, on-site parking, and cover monthly professional supervision.

What the day-to-day looks like:
- Providing advice, information and support services to students regarding University policy and procedure;
- Attending student meetings or hearings as a support person if requested by student;
- Supporting students from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds;
- Providing timely reports and advice to the Student Guild on advocacy service delivery and matters affecting the support of students;
- Maintaining up-to-date, accurate and confidential records and administrative systems for advocacy and welfare services digitally;
- Working within a small, collaborative team in an organisation that offers a varied suite of support and engagement initiatives.
Are we a good match?
Applicants need to demonstrate:
- A tertiary qualification in a related field (e.g. human services, social work, education etc);
- A high level of interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships with, and support the student population;
- Highly developed written and oral communication skills including the ability to edit and review documents;
- Strong organisational and attention to detail skills. Demonstrated ability to work with limited day-to-day supervision, including the ability to follow instructions and meet deadlines and work schedules;
- Demonstrated competency in electronic media (e.g. CRM systems, social media posts, Microsoft Office systems);
- Capacity to successfully function as part of a service team; working within a flexible work environment as directed by the Operations Manager;
- The ability to effectively and sensitively relate to people from a broad range of backgrounds and cultures.
