We are seeking a full-time Advocacy and Projects Leader to support TasFarmers as the eminent policy and advocacy body for Tasmanian Farmers and the agricultural industry.
As a member of a small but effective team, this role will shape and develop policies and deliver projects aligned with the TasFarmers strategic plan and members' interests.

Qualifications & experience
- Degree qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent industry experience relevant to the role.
- Experience working with government and industry stakeholders.
- Sound ability to develop and research policy.
- Demonstrated understanding of project management principles and experience.
- Strong communication skills and an ability to write for different mediums.
- High level of computer literacy with Microsoft Office suite of applications.

- Hold a current Tasmanian driver's licence
Tasks & responsibilities
- Collaborate effectively within the existing organisational structures with the ability to communicate effectively with the CEO, industry members, stakeholders, and employees.
- Provide high-quality, evidence-based advice to the CEO.
- Provide support to the CEO to ensure that current policy and procedural obligations are drafted, implemented, maintained, and achieved in alignment with legislative and organisation compliance.
- Lead the activities of and provide effective and empowering leadership to Policy & Project team members at TasFarmers
- Collaboratively work with the Policy & Advocacy team in the development of policies and initiatives, through consultation and negotiation with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including taking a lead role on strategic matters and policy areas as directed
- Lead the TasFarmers suite of externally funded projects, including actively identifying opportunities for new project funding that address the needs of the members and complement the TasFarmers strategic plan
