About theRole:
An exciting opportunity hasbecome available for a motivated and experienced person to join andlead the Aboriginal Education team as an Aboriginal CommunityEducation Team Leader in our education office at ParaHills.
Thesuccessful candidate will provide advisory and consultativeservices to Local Education Teams (LETs), school leadership teams,Student Support Services staff and site based Aboriginal educationstaff to improve decision making and service provision impactingthe participation in education and early childhood services ofAboriginal children, students, their parents, andfamilies.
Keyresponsibilities will include:
- Collaborate with Local Education Teams (LETs) to make a significant contribution to the development, improvement and implementation of the policies, practices, support, and services provided to Aboriginal children and young people to improve learning and wellbeing outcomes.
- Provide leadership support, expert advice and consultative services whilst facilitating collaboration across LETs, Student Support Services staff, Aboriginal Education Directorate staff, site based Aboriginal education staff and key stakeholders.
- Demonstrate a broad, partnership perspective to identify service gaps and engagement strategies through the review and analysis of data and information as it relates to Aboriginal children and young people.
- Provide effective management and supervision of an Aboriginal Services Engagement Officer to ensure the delivery of effective and responsive client support services for vulnerable Aboriginal students and their families.
- Lead the development and establishment of effective Aboriginal engagement initiatives (with a specific focus on vulnerable schools and learning outcomes) to support the participation in education and early childhood services of Aboriginal children, students, their parents, and families.
- Establish Aboriginal community and staff engagement networks that build capacity of our partnerships and sites to meet the educational needs of our Aboriginal children and young people.
- Effectively advocate for Aboriginal education and child development on committees, forums and working groups within the department, government and non-government agencies and Aboriginal community groups aligned with the departments Strategic Plan and Aboriginal Education Strategy.
- Provide consultative services and be a central and key source of cultural advice to stakeholders.
- Provide information and advice to leadership regarding issues affecting Aboriginal Education Workers.
Qualifications:
Essential:A certificate 4 or higher education qualification in education,human or community services, or equivalent experience.
Desirable:Leadership and Management training or qualifications.
SpecialConditions:
Thesuccessful applicant is required to gain a Department for HumanServices (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to beingemployed which is required to be renewed every five years beforeexpiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC(Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care)Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online(Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated everythree years.

Remuneration:
AEW5:$93,659 - $100,872 per annum (1.0 FTE), plussuperannuation.
