Who are we:
Campbelltown Community Children’s Centre is a not for profit, multicultural service providing Early Childhood Education and Care for children from 6 weeks to school age. We are a long day care service that has a long-standing reputation for developing exceptional relationships with families, children, and the wider community. We believe our children are to receive nutritionally balanced meals throughout the day following the Start Right Eat Right Principles.
Reporting to the Centre Director/Assistant Director, we're seeking an enthusiastic, experienced and qualified Cook who is passionate about preparing fresh and wholesome meals for the children.
This is a permanent part-time role, working Monday to Friday between
10.30am to 2.30pm.
The successful applicant will
- have experience and passion for cooking and presenting a wide variety of nutritious foods that are suitable for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years
- have a Working With Children Check
- have experience working in a childcare setting is an advantage but not necessary
- be experienced in developing a rotating seasonal menu for children, including children with allergies and intolerances
- be reliable, positive and well organised
- have good time management skills and be confident managing a kitchen
- enjoy working with families, colleagues and children
You will be responsible for:-
- preparing morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea for children each day, including the preparation of purees and meals for special dietary requirements
- menu planning, in accordance with the Centre's Food and Nutrition Policy
- maintaining a clean, safe and organised kitchen, in accordance with Food Safety Regulations and the Food Safety Program, including ordering and stock management.
- being compliant with health & safety standards in line with policies, procedures and regulations
- working with external food safety regulatory bodies
