About the Role
Actively support the individual needs of elderly Australians who access our Community Care Services across the Brisbane North region. You will be a proactive and caring support worker who reflects the LWB values and is passionate about helping others. We have Permanent Part Time opportunities available with flexible working hours to suit your lifestyle, hours can be based between school hours if required.
You will be required to provide domestic assistance, including assistance with washing clothes, vacuuming, dusting and other light cleaning duties. You will support multiple clients each day across Chermside, Brendale, Bowen Hills and surrounding suburbs. You must be willing to travel up to 30 minutes as required, we provide reimbursement per km travelled while you are working.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support with community access to activities including medical appointments, shopping and social activities
- Domestic assistance including washing clothing and hanging out to dry, folding and ironing of clothes, changing of bed linen as required, and other light cleaning duties
- Provide assistance with personal care including showering, bathing, toileting, and grooming as identified in their Care Plan
- Building positive relationships with the people we support and their families
Skills & Experience
- A current unrestricted Australian drivers licence and a reliable vehicle with minimum 3rd party insurance
- Certificate III in Individual Support or other relevant field will be highly regarded
- A current First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Prior experience working in the community with ageing clients is desirable
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
