Job description

  • Initial contract until end of June 2024 with possible extension paying from $1,000/day
  • Brisbane CBD Location with flexibility to WFH 2 days per week
Our client, a large complex Queensland Government Agency, are currently seeking an Agile Project Manager who will work as a member of a cross-functional team linking with a number of business units responsible for delivering projects and initiatives whilst operating in an Agile delivery environment.
Asana skills and experience MANDATORY.
The area works collaboratively with not-for-profit, for-profit and government partners to achieve a more effective and integrated service system and improved long-term outcomes for clients requiring assistance.
Responsibilities:
  • Work with teams to create project plans including identifying project deliverables, definitions of done, and project timelines
  • Conduct regular sprint planning sessions across multiple teams
  • Monitor, track, and report progress on project deliverables, including developing new reporting tools and visualisations such as project dashboards, conducting retrospectives to measure team performance/progress, and producing and analysing project metrics to identify areas for improvement
  • Coach and mentor team members on agile principles, tools, and rituals

  • Assist teams to remove blockers i.e. issues that are impeding the progress of work
  • Assist teams in the establishment and management of project risk and issues registers
  • Understand the end-to-end impact of the workstream on other work streams and minimise disruption caused by interdependencies
Essential skills and experience required:
  • Proficiency in using Asana and other project management software and tools (mandatory)
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills including proven ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships and use advanced communication to convey complex information to a range of audiences
  • Ability to effectively lead, motivate and manage teams
  • Well-developed problem-solving, critical-thinking, and analytical skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively
  • Knowledge and experience in project management processes and methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, and Scrum within a Queensland Government environment
  • Well-developed skills and experience using MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Ability to create and manage project plans, timelines, and milestones
  • Capability in risk management practices
