Located in Latrobe Valley, Full-time, Fixed term (12 Month Traineeship)

We will support your development in this Traineeship, training will be provided by TAFE Gippsland.

What you’ll be doing in this role?

Latrobe Community Health Service, based in Morwell, is seeking a dedicated individual for the Alcohol & Other Drug (AOD) Traineeship program. Sitting within the Addiction Services team, the program focuses on establishing strong connections with local services, providing valuable work experience in AOD service delivery, and supporting further study or ongoing employment.

Over a 12-month period, the successful candidate will engage in structured learning and on-the-job training within our AOD teams, collaborating on diverse tasks to achieve program outcomes. This role extends across the Latrobe Valley, involving contributions to the community through initiatives like the Needle Syringe program, specialised programs such as the Therapeutic Day Rehabilitation service, and supporting your team at the AOD walk-in clinic (The Hub).

Your work will include:

  • Build and maintain strong connections with clients seeking assistance with alcohol or other drug issues.
  • Provide individual support under supervision from the clinical team.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client case notes, reports, and related documentation.

What we’re looking for:

  • Willingness to complete Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD)
  • A current Victorian Drivers Licence
  • Desire to participate in an engaging learning experience
