About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for an Algorithms Engineer to join our Red Ochre Autonomy and Sensors Line of Business reporting to the Algorithms Lead. We are flexible in terms of location of work and will consider applications from VIC, SA and NSW.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working
You will be responsible delivering high quality technical input to Autonomy projects as requested.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Develop models and simulations of complex vehicles and systems
  • Develop algorithms and control systems using model based design methodologies within Simulink and Matlab
  • Ensure that the relevant software development processes are followed
  • Develop technical documentation to support algorithms
  • Design and execute mathematical simulations for a variety of scenarios, interpret/analyse the results and communicate them effectively in written reports
  • Liaise with customer and supplier stakeholders in support of model development, verification and validation as required
  • Support integration of developed models, algorithms and/or control systems into broader systems as required
  • Perform assurance activities for the models and simulations to the required standard
  • Perform configuration management on developed work products
  • Develop tools to support modelling and analysis
About YOU
  • Demonstrated experience with the design and execution of mathematical simulations and analysis of simulation data
  • Knowledge and experience in MATLAB Simulink
  • Sound Communication skills, verbal and written
  • Ability to work well within a team environment or autonomously
  • Ability to partner with and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to obtain the necessary deliverables
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Formal Engineering qualification is essential and significant experience in at least one Engineering Discipline, e.g. Aerospace / Mechatronics Engineering is highly desirable
  • Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
  • Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
