The Oppor­tu­ni­ty

We seek an expe­ri­enced Rates Officer who will be responsible for undertaking the duties required for the rates function including process rating tasks in alignment to legislation. This position reports to the Manager Finance and performing administrative functions relating to the management of the Council’s rating system in a confidential, impartial manner to ensure accuracy and reliability for an effective rating service to Council and ratepayers.

Your responsibilities will include maintaining the integrity of Council’s rate information and ensure the assessment record is accurate, up-to-date and a comprehensive record of all rateable land within the area, as per legislative requirements. Prepare reports for the certification and correction of records, Prepare and issue Rate Notices and reminder notices to ensure compliance to legislative timelines with rate payment instalment administration and maintenance. Process supplementary rates notices and overdue notices.
