The Oppor­tu­ni­ty

We seek an expe­ri­enced Rates Offi­cer who will be respon­si­ble for under­tak­ing the duties required for the rates func­tion includ­ing process rat­ing tasks in align­ment to leg­is­la­tion. This posi­tion reports to the Man­ag­er Finance and per­form­ing admin­is­tra­tive func­tions relat­ing to the man­age­ment of the Council’s rat­ing sys­tem in a con­fi­den­tial, impar­tial man­ner to ensure accu­ra­cy and reli­a­bil­i­ty for an effec­tive rat­ing ser­vice to Coun­cil and ratepayers.

Your respon­si­bil­i­ties will include main­tain­ing the integri­ty of Council’s rate infor­ma­tion and ensure the assess­ment record is accu­rate, up-to-date and a com­pre­hen­sive record of all rate­able land with­in the area, as per leg­isla­tive require­ments. Pre­pare reports for the cer­ti­fi­ca­tion and cor­rec­tion of records, Pre­pare and issue Rate Notices and reminder notices to ensure com­pli­ance to leg­isla­tive time­lines with rate pay­ment instal­ment admin­is­tra­tion and main­te­nance. Process sup­ple­men­tary rates notices and over­due notices.
