Ballina District Hospital is seeking an Allied Health Assistant, to assist Allied Health staff undertake specified patient care, as well as some administrative and non treatment activities. The Allied Health Assistant will work under the direction of Allied Health professionals and act in accordance with the Allied Health Assistants Guidelines.
If you have:
- Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or willing to undertake same. Allied Health Assistants will be employed at Levels 1-3 dependant on qualifications
- Experience as an Allied Health Assistant in a Hospital, Rehabilitation Unit, Occupational Therapy/Physiotherapy/Speech Pathology, Dietetics Service or a facility working with people with disabilities
- Ability to assist in treatment and non treatment activities or groups under the direction of an allied health professional
- Effective communication through the use of information technology, written, verbal and interpersonal skills with the ability to identify key messages, issues and concerns when communicating with others
- Knowledge and understanding of person centred care, quality improvement and multidisciplinary team work
