Allied Health Assistant – Community Rehabilitation – Grade 2
  • 28 hours / week (Monday – Thursday)

About the Role
An opportunity currently exists for a Grade 2 Allied Health Assistant to join the Community Rehabilitation team on a permanent basis. The Grade 2 Allied Health Assistant will provide and deliver high quality person-centred, goal-orientated and home and centre-based community rehabilitation within a supportive multidisciplinary team.
The classification for this position is IN29 ($60,112) per annum, pro rata.
Your Contribution
  • Allied Health Assistant Certificate (as defined by the Health and Allied Services Award) or equivalent health related education
  • Experience working with a team of allied health professionals
  • Experience running exercise groups
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills that incorporate excellent communication with health professionals and clients of varying ages and cultural backgrounds
  • Highly developed skills of organization, planning and problem solving
  • Demonstrated sound knowledge of patient and own safety
  • Current Driver’s licence
  • Experience in rehabilitation is highly desirable
  • Current National criminal history check or willing to obtain

About Health Independence Programs - Community Rehabilitation
This position is part of the Health Independence Program (HIP). The intent of HIP is to deliver improved outcomes for clients and to support hospital demand management and flow, through delivering integrated and coordinated care to clients across the hospital and community interface, reducing duplication and fragmentation of services and ensuring client centred care planning. SVHM HIP consists of integrated hub sites across several locations including in Fitzroy, Kew, North Richmond and Fairfield.
This position will be part of the HIP Community Rehabilitation team based at the Fairfield Community Rehabilitation Centre.
The key aim of Community Rehabilitation is to help people who are recovering from traumatic injury or illness, are frail or chronically ill to regain optimal function and to allow people to maximise their independence.
