Allocator / Admin Assistant 

Aussie Excavators Plant Hire – Capalaba Qld

We are looking for a dedicated and proactive person with strong communication and administrative skills, ideally with an understanding of the earthmoving and plant hire industry.

Operating for over 35 years, Aussie Excavators continues to uphold their reputation as a reliable, trustworthy, and ethical provider of premium earthmoving solutions to Government Departments as well as the Building and Civil construction industry.

Reporting to and working in collaboration with the Customer Service Manager, this role will also be required to support the Administration & QHSE team.

This is a fast paced and dynamic role that requires complex problem solving and would be suited to someone looking for more than your average 9 - 5 role. Due to the 24-hour nature of our business your office start time may be as early as 7am on any given day on a rostered basis and you may be required to remain in the office until 5pm. Primarily, hours will either be 7am-3:30pm OR 8:30am - 5pm. You will also be required to participate in the after-hours remote on call roster after a period of training.

In the role you will be responsible for but not limited to the following duties:

  • Daily scheduling and customer bookings
  • Allocating plant, attachments and coordinating personnel
  • Upholding our high-level of customer service and Aussie Excavators Plant Hire’s corporate image and values
  • Regularly following up with Clients and Operators to ensure on time delivery and customer satisfaction
  • Communication with operators and drivers to ensure tasks are completed & operational issues resolved
  • Availability to take calls outside of normal work hours

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience with MS Office Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Financial acumen and experience with MYOB desirable
  • Strong attention to detail with demonstrated numerical skills
  • Proven ability to work in high pressure environment
  • A basic knowledge of general business principals
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • The ability to manage conflicting deadlines & tasks
  • Positive attitude and commitment towards safety
  • Ideally live locally to our Capalaba Depot

Desirable, but not essential criteria:

  • Relevant industry experience working in construction, earthmoving, haulage or plant hire
  • Previous experience as a plant allocator/scheduler, exposure to business administration and data capture or similar within a fast-paced environment preferable however not essential
  • Experience using Assignar, Allocate 365, MYOB / Xero or similar
  • Cert III in business administration or similar
