Role Details:
Gold Fields Australia (GFA) is seeking an Alternate Underground Manager to join their Underground Mining Team at Invincible UG Mine. Reporting to the Unit Manager: Underground Mining, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating all operational aspects of the underground operations to meet safety, production, and cost targets. This role is offered on 8 days on 6 days off roster, either residential Kalgoorlie/ Kambalda, or fly in fly out from Perth.

About the role:
Ensure all statutory requirements are met per the WA WHS Act & Regulations.
Deliver all reporting and actions about safety and environmental incidents is completed within appropriate deadlines.
Manage and oversee the production and development activities of the mine, taking into consideration the long-term requirements of the mine as well as responding to the daily requirements, to achieve the budget;
Provide input into mine planning, projects, ventilation, survey, and geotechnical requirements of the mine to ensure safe production.
Actively manage Business Partners and short-term contractors to ensure safe production and delivery;
Collaborate the capital development and infrastructure investment programs to ensure completion is incident free, on-time and on-budget;
Promote a positive culture of teamwork, high performance, and accountability, both within the Mining team, Business Partners and across all departments.
Drive the productivity improvement and innovation processes throughout the underground in conjunction with the BI Department;
Support a learning organization & diverse thinking to meet business requirements.
About you:
Recognised Tertiary Degree in Bachelor of Engineering (Mining) and WA First Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency in WA
Extensive experience in an underground mining environment with experience in large-scale mechanized open stoping with paste fill
Demonstrated experience in providing leadership, managing training/development, career progression and performance management of personnel
Proficiency with mining software (Deswik, Ventsim)
Strong technical background with experience in underground mine planning, ventilation, geotechnical, drill blast, capital justifications, and infrastructure projects
Significant experience in Contract Management
Successful track record in Leading Change and delivering a High-Performance Culture
The ability to effectively coach and communicate, influence change, lead and provide alignment of multiple teams in a dynamic and challenging production environment
