Hawk Logistics is a privately owned transport and logistics company specializing in refrigerated freight. Beginning in 2011 with one truck the business has grown rapidly continuing to provide subcontractor services to some of Australia’s largest transport companies as well as having a portfolio of direct customers.
We are looking for an experienced Linehaul Allocator based at our Dry creek depot to take ownership and control over running the day-to-day operations working within our Adelaide Operations Team.
Must have at least 2 years' experience as an Allocator.
We are looking to fill the role of an AM Linehaul Allocator Monday to Saturday 06:00am to 14:00PM
Your responsibilities will include:
- Booking and allocating all freight movements in our Transport Management System
- Daily allocation of drivers to all loads.
- Communicating to daily rosters to drivers.
- Coordinating preloading of trailers.
- Proactively communicating to customers when there are delivery issues.
- Responding to all customer enquiries with a sense of urgency including arrival times or late deliveries via email and over the phone.
- Building a strong working relationship with our customers.
- Maintaining system records for all loads completed with resource details updated.
- Planning and managing driver hours to ensure our practices abide by the National Heavy Vehicle Law (NHVL).
- Escalating any safety or compliance issues to management and assisting with incident management as necessary.
- Coordinating with the Fleet Manager to ensure vehicles are taken off the road for repairs as necessary.
- Coordinating breakdown recovery with the Fleet Manager.
- Ensuring drivers complete internal paperwork daily as required such as Pre-Trip Inspections Run Sheets and National Work Diaries to business standards.
- Ensuring drivers demonstrate safe work practices at all times.
- Managing the performance of each driver including taking action with drivers to improve individual performance or escalating driver performance to management.
Key Qualities:
- Minimum 2 year experience in transport operations management or similar role.
- Experience in Refrigerated Transport and managing LTL freight desirable.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office particularly Excel, Word & Outlook.
- Freight2020, JAIX TMS or equivalent experience desirable.
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
