About Barwon HealthWith over 8,000 staff and more than 1,200 volunteers we provide services to our local community the G21 region which comprises the residents of the City of Greater Geelong, Colac Otway Shire, Golden Plains Shire, Borough of Queenscliff and Surf Coast Shire. Barwon Health has 1,016 beds across our sites, including 363 residential aged care beds.

Speciality fellowships include:
  • Cardiac Anaesthesia (1 job:12 months, Feb-Feb)
  • Regional Anaesthesia (2 jobs: 6 months general; 6 months regional, ie 12 months employment)
  • Perioperative Medicine (1 job:12 months Feb-Feb)
  • Airway Fellowship (1 job: 12 months Feb-Feb, please note this is the first time this position has been advertised for a 1 year contract)
  • General Fellowship (6 or 12 months)
  • Other subspecialty anaesthesia fellowships may be available on discussion
We will also be jointly recruiting to a position with Werribee Mercy, with 6 months Werribee, 6 months UHG, suit AT but fellow approved (separate contracts for each hospital).Please specify in your cover letter which positions/fellowships you are applying for (can apply for multiple).We may also have a part time position available (once again please specify if you are looking for part time in your cover letter).Applicants must be ANZCA accredited or eligible.About The CultureThe Department of Anaesthesia, Perioperative and Pain Medicine, currently employs approximately 21 full-time, 47 part-time Anaesthetic Consultants and 24 Anaesthetic Registrars.The department supports a wide range of clinical anaesthetic services including regional anaesthesia and ultrasound, obstetric and paediatric services, cardiac anaesthesia (including transoesophageal echocardiography) and a benchmark perioperative service (including CPET). Essential: ANZCA Accredited Advanced Trainee or Eligible (Australian or Overseas Equivalent) to undertake a Provisional Fellowship in Anaesthesia
Desirable: Varied clinical experience prior to anaesthesia role; General Medical, Medical Specialty, Obstetric and Gynaecology, Surgical experience
Desirable: Demonstrated commitment to ongoing Medical Education, Quality Assurance and Teaching
