The Role

The Strategic Insights Analyst position is a newly created role to meet the increased demand for data-driven insights to inform decision-making within the Commercial team, including informing the strategic direction for the division, led by the Strategy and Planning function. This role will work closely with multiple stakeholders within the Commercial, Financial and Operations teams to ensure analysis is robust and accurate

Key Responsibilities

• Problem-solve hypotheses to be tested, in order to inform strategic initiatives and decision-making within the Commercial team Undertake analysis to develop insights from a wide range of internal and external datasets including internal performance summaries and external industry reports and information
• Deliver trusted insights from analysis and suggest actions and follow-on analyses from these insights
• Create and maintain ‘central source of truth’ for major assets and customer segments (e.g., Collection Centre network) to assist ongoing business decisions such as performance
• management
• Work with internal stakeholders to collate information, pressure-test findings and develop a robust understanding of business drivers
• , provide ad-hoc analysis and communicate insights & actions
• Work with Data & analytics team to identify new data sources, refine data requirements and design
• and prioritise changes to online platforms and dashboards

• Tertiary qualification in commerce, mathematics or a related discipline
• 1-3 years’ experience in a consulting environment
• Strong analytical acumen, with Excel, Power BI, SQL and Tableau skills
• Proficiency in translating analysis to visual charts and communicating the ‘so what’
• Experience in knowing when to take a hypothesis-led versus exploratory approach to analysis
• Passionate about using data to deliver actionable insights
• Excellent interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, and assess and adjust quickly to changing priorities
