About Us
Ten Lives is the largest dedicated cat shelter in Tasmania. We are a self-funded organisation dedicated to caring for and rehoming the unwanted cats and kittens of Southern Tasmania. We also provide education programs aimed at improving feline welfare in Tasmania and encouraging responsible cat ownership.
The Role
We are looking for a person who is capable of undertaking shifts in multiple areas of the Centre.
As an Animal Attendant you will be responsible for the day to day care of the cats in the Centre. This includes but is not limited to feeding, medicating, handling, socialising and moving cats within and to/from the shelter.
The role also involves cleaning all aspects of the Centre to a very high standard which requires the handling of chemicals.
As a Customer Service Representative you will be responsible for providing exceptional Customer Service to all Ten Lives customers in both the retail and welfare space.
The role involves providing a personalised experience for those looking to adopt including the use of appropriate cross-selling techniques; maintaining a clean, welcoming well stocked retail space; providing a safe and welcoming environment for those boarding their pets with us; general stock control and providing support to other staff and volunteers as required.
You may be asked to undertake additional tasks in line with your skills and experience.
Qualifications/Experience
- Driver's Licence essential.
- Previous experience in a busy retail or Customer Service environment essential.
- Well developed skills in retail displays; stock management; crowd control; and POS systems essential.
- Qualifications in animal care an advantage.
- Previous experience in a shelter or veterinary clinic desirable.
- WWVP check or ability to acquire essential.
