Greater Shepparton City Council’s Animal Shelter has a full time Animal Shelter Officer position available. This role suits people who are motivated, reliable, energetic and willing to provide a high standard of domestic animal care.
The Animal Shelter team cares for around 2,000 lost and surrendered animals per year with a strong record of finding new homes for our animals or reuniting them with their loved ones. Key tasks include:
- Cleaning, medicating, feeding and assessing animals
- Providing a high level of customer service to the community
- Maintaining high levels of cleanliness and disease control
- Educating the community about animal care and wellbeing
- Administration duties including record keeping
- Providing enrichment and positive attention to the animals in our care
If you have completed or are working towards a relevant certificate in an animal field such as vet nursing or animal regulation and management, have experience in handling and caring for animals, and are committed to implementing contemporary animal welfare practices, this may be the role for you!

Note: This position is subject to a 6 month qualifying period in accordance with the Fair Work Australia minimum employment period.
