Position Title: Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS) Pharmacist
Employment Type: Maximum Term, Part Time (12 months Maternity Relief Backfill)

Hours per week: 16 hours (Thursdays and Fridays) plus weekend and on-call as per roster requirements
Position Grade: Pharmacist Grade 3 (Year 1 - 2)
Salary: $123,870.36 to $127,316.75 (pro-rata) base per annum

About the role:

An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably experienced and highly motivated hospital pharmacist to job share the Antimicrobial Stewardship Pharmacist (AMS) role. The AMS Pharmacist will provide a clinical and leadership role in antimicrobial stewardship and ensure compliance with all relevant guidelines and standards. The AMS Pharmacist will be responsible for promoting, supporting and achieving best practice in antimicrobial stewardship at St Vincent's Hospital and providing AMS Committee support.

Selection Criteria:
1. Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia

2. Current Pharmacy Registration with AHPRA with no conditions on scope of practice and availability for on-call and weekend work as per roster requirements

3. Extensive hospital Pharmacy experience with demonstrated high level of competence, expertise and skill in delivering antimicrobial stewardship services including development and implementation of programs to achieve the quality use of medicines in the area of antimicrobial drugs and antimicrobial therapeutic drug monitoring

4. Demonstrated knowledge of the regulatory framework for Medication Handling in NSW Public Health Facilities and demonstrated experience in Quality Assurance activities and the application of relevant HealthCare Standards

5. Demonstrated leadership and demonstrated capacity to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team with a high degree of initiative and ability to effect practice change

6. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to consult and communicate, both orally and in writing, with all levels of health services staff and clients

7. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills, clinical supervision and management skills including ability to mentor, motivate and inspire ongoing development of staff

8. Excellent time management skills and attention to detail as well as demonstrated ability to manage systems/processes accurately and completely
