To provide pharmaceutical services within the boundaries of relevant legislation and policies to patients of the
MNCLHD under the direction of the Director of Pharmacy. This includes clinical pharmacy services, multidisciplinary
team work, manufacturing, drug information, dispensary functions, patient counselling and educational functions.
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course (2 doses) of a Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA) approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine (except for the Janssen COVID-19 vaccine, which is approved by the TGA as a single dose primary course).
New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health or provide an Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) immunisation history statement certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW. A NSW Health agency may require further information about the medical contraindication (including but not limited to an Immunisation Medical Exemption form – IM011 form).
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
AN ELIGIBILITY LIST FROM THIS RECRUITMENT ACTIVITY MAY BE CREATED FOR FUTURE VACANCIES
- Registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia and postgraduate qualifications in a Diploma of Clinical Pharmacy or any other relevant postgraduate qualifications AND a minimum of 6 months experience in the relevant specialty OR not less than 3 years' experience in hospital pharmacy including not less than 12 months experience in the relevant specialty.
- Extensive experience in the provision of advanced clinical pharmacy services in a hospital setting with a demonstrated understanding of contemporary practice in clinical pharmacy, quality use of medicines and knowledge of relevant state and national policies that facilitate medication safety.
- Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing) with Pharmacy staff and other members of the healthcare team and clients and a demonstrated ability of problem solving skills.
- Commitment to participate in ongoing professional development and experience in the provision of educational sessions to the multidisciplinary healthcare team and clients.
- Proven record of significant contribution to medication safety and quality assurance activities
