About the role...
We have an opportunity to join our crew as a Developer with a focus on apparel. The role is a permanent full time capacity at our global head office in Torquay. The role is the link between Product manager, designers and the assigned suppliers. Responsible for sending accurate specifications with clear and concise comments for assigned global and regional options.
The key responsibilities for the role include;
- Support to Design and Product Managers with specific knowledge of components, finishes and costs
- Preparing detailed tech pack information
- Transform the design concept to actual product.
- Identify and resolve any potential problems in cost, make, MOQ or quality.
- Prepare technical drawings displaying all trim and make details for production, as required.
- Price Negotiation with an understanding of margin requirements
- Prepare size specification details for production.
- manage development and production of the Rip curl products at their charge in Timeline/Quality/Cost/Compliance required by the brand.
- Develop strong relationships with suppliers and contacts.
- Liaise with suppliers regularly regarding technical issues at all stages of product development & production.
Having worked within a product development role you will have a strong understanding of apparel product assembly, critical components and production processes. You have a strong understanding of costs & production implications during the technical development process. You will have strong communication skills and ability to develop relationships within internal and external stake holders such as suppliers to ensure deadlines are met and any issues are raised and resolved swiftly. You will be passionate about quality products and providing solutions to get results for the Rip Curl brand.
