This is for a permanent, full time vacancy.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Application Architect is responsible for undertaking design activities on strategic, multi-site, multi-client initiatives and providing technical advice.

The position will be expected to:

  • Investigate new technologies or solutions to business issues. This may involve extensive research and analysis of a significant number of factors and a broad range of solutions to sometimes complex issues.
  • Undertake design and development activities on strategic projects for internal and external clients.
  • Ensure court/judicial application and technical information and knowledge are maintained in the Courts Technology repository.
  • Evaluate and recommends tools and techniques to support the application development process.
  • Contribute to the development of, promotes, and ensures adherence to Application Architectural framework and standards across both support and development activities.
  • Provide advice on Application Architecture on request.

The Courts Technology Group is responsible for developing and maintaining technology and technological support to meet the current and future needs of the courts and tribunals. This includes our Integrated Courts Management System (ICMS), which is vital to the effective running of courts and tribunals in Western Australia (WA). We also support and develop the eCourts Portal, an integrated web portal that extends court and tribunal services to the community.

The system is now used across all WA courts and tribunals, with our services helping facilitate the change from manual court and tribunal processes to a fully digital process. The Courts Technology Group has been innovative in developing technology in courts across Australia.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this position, the successful applicant must meet the following criteria:

  • Considerable experience within a similar application development and architectural environment.
  • Sound experience leading design activities on major information technology projects in a complex multi-site, multi-client environment.
