Duties include the following:
- Safe use of manual and power tools
- Open mold fiberglass hand layup
- Dry lamination for vacuum infusion
- Sanding and finishing of fiberglass components
- Gelcoat and marine spraying
- Assisting with rigging and fit out of new boat builds
- Assisting with sea trials on pilot boats
- Assisting with delivery of pilots boats around Australia and overseas
- General factory duties
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following:
- Dedicated to learning
- Have an interest in the Boating Industry
- Self motivated
- Open and excited about learning new skills
- Attention to detail and quality
- The ability to work as part of a team
- Commitment to a 4-year Full Time Apprenticeship including completion of all associated TAFE training
As an Apprentice at Hart Marine, you will have the opportunity to become a qualified Boat Builder and earn your Certificate III in Marine Craft Construction.
Hart Marine is located in across two sites, with positions available at our Mornington site and Somerville sites, our Mornington site in close proximity to Rye, Dromana, Mount Martha on the Mornington Peninsula and Bayside areas of Frankston, Seaford, Carrum Downs, Patterson Lakes, Mordialloc.
Our Somerville site in close proximity Koo Wee Rup, Langwarrin, Pearcedale, Somerville, Tyabb, Hastings, Crib Point, Balnarring, Red hill and Flinders.
