As leaders in the global market, we continue to grow and innovate to meet the needs of our customers today, tomorrow and into the future.Being part of our team allows you to work in a highly equipped workshop, with a diverse range of tools and equipment, all whilst being supported by highly experienced trades people.We are currently looking to engage passionate and enthusiastic individuals of all ages, genders, and backgrounds who want to embark on a rewarding journey as an Apprentice Boilermaker.Komatsu Underground will support you as you undertake four years of nationally recognised training, completing your Cert III - Engineering (Fabrication), while being paid to perfect your skills in our state-of-the-art workshops.You will gain hands-on experience in constructing, maintaining, and repairing underground equipment, as well as having access to a range of other learning and development opportunities to support your career both personally and professionally.As an Apprentice Boilermaker, What will I learn?

  • Construct, maintain and repair components of Komatsu's range of underground mining equipment including miners, longwalls, roof supports and shuttle cars.
  • Align structures and plate sections, use hand welding and power tools to assemble equipment and gain expertise in welding techniques.
  • Use heat, pressure and cutting tools to join metal and perform quality checks.
  • Read machine schematics and detailed equipment drawings.
  • Implement and follow comprehensive safety processes and quality control measures.
  • Gain skills and competencies on a range of hand tools, business skills, public speaking, and leadership.
What we require from you:
  • A genuine interest and passion for all things Fabricating.
  • A willingness to learn and a strong attention to detail.
  • Driver's License and access to your own reliable transport to and from site.
  • An interest in the Komatsu Underground business and our cool equipment.
  • A commitment to fulfilling and successfully passing all practical and theory-based study requirements of your Apprenticeship.
  • A basic understanding of hand tools.
