POSITION OBJECTIVES
Teys Australia has an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Boilermaker to join our team at our Rockhampton processing site in Central Queensland. In this pivotal role, the successful candidate will undertake the appropriate training program to become competent in supporting Teys Australia plant operations with respect to the various systems and machines that operations require for production of its products. This involves, but it not limited to welding, fabrication and mechanical fitting work
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- To attend TAFE and complete on the job training to successfully pass all modules as required by the approved training plan
- Work under supervision of a competent person whilst performing tasks on the job when able to do so
- Learn welding, cutting, sheet metal fabrication, heavy fabrication and component repair / assembly, and undertake a variety of mechanical work.
- Follow Teys Australia policies, procedures, and instructions from supervisors at all times
- Be flexible with working hours (after hours work may be required based on business requirements)
SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential:
- Year 12 school qualification/and or equivalent
- Ability to problem solve mechanical issues
- Ability to learn in a variety of skills such as welding, fabrication and fitting
- Ability to see the value of teamwork and has a proven track record in working with diverse teams
- Curious to learn and have a strong desire to develop and chase opportunities to learn
Desirable:
- Meat industry experience including basic HACCP concepts and practices
