The Package: $820.60 - $1,206.09 gross per week + 11% super. (Evaluated as Trainee Grade 4 – 10 of the QPRC Salary System 2023) and guaranteed increases of 3.5% in 2024-25 and 3% in 2025-26, plus potential performance-based progression.
Full-time– 38 hours per week. 9-day fortnight conditions will apply.

As part of the position, Council will meet 100% of costs for course fees and any other costs associated such as prescribed textbooks, whilst gaining valuable industry experience.
In this role you will:
- Assist the team with maintaining and managing gardens, bushland, playgrounds, and trees in the local area.
- Learn horticulture preparation and preservation techniques.
- Undertaking landscape works to transform outdoor spaces within the community.
- Get hands on experience with power tools and small machinery such as mowers, tippers, irrigation systems and spray machinery.
We are looking for someone who:
- Ability to enrol in and complete a Certificate III in Horticulture.
- Someone who is a highly motivated self-starter with an interest in Horticulture/Parks and Gardens industry.
- A has effective communication skills
- Possess and maintains a current class ‘P’ or ‘C’ Drivers licence or in the process of obtaining a licence.
