East Coast Apprenticeships is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team as full-time Formwork Carpentry Apprentices. As an apprentice with us, you will have the opportunity to work with our host employers, who are leading industry professionals. This apprenticeship offers an exciting pathway to gain hands-on experience, develop specialised skills, and build a successful future in formwork carpentry. 

With the support of qualified trades people, you will be:

  • Assisting in the installation of formwork structures, including assembling and positioning formwork panels, beams, and other components.
  • Participating in concrete pouring activities, coordinating with other tradespeople and ensuring proper concrete consolidation and finishing.
  • Assisting in the removal of formwork from hardened concrete structures, carefully dismantling and removing components.
  • Preparing formwork materials by cutting, shaping, and sizing plywood, lumber, or metal components.
  • Learning and implementing formwork maintenance practices, including inspecting, cleaning, and repairing damaged components.
  • Following safety protocols, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and contributing to a safe work environment.
  • Collaborating with experienced formwork carpenters, tradespeople, and construction professionals to learn and contribute to the success of construction projects.

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must have:

  • An interest and commitment to work in Construction
  • A White Card or the ability to obtain one ASAP
  • A current Drivers License or be close to obtaining one, and have your own reliable transport
  • Certificate I or II in Construction is advantageous
  • Work experience within the construction industry is highly desirable
  • Physically fit, self-disciplined, and have high attention to detail
  • Reliable, resilient, motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to take direction and take the safety of yourself and your team members seriously
  • Eagerness to learn
