Randstad are currently recruiting for multiple APS5 Local Community Connectors who will work within a Service Delivery team in Alice Springs and surrounding areas
Role The APS5 Local Community Connectors
Location - Alice Springs (Mparntwe)
Hours - Monday to Friday Office hours with some regional travel
PAY - $55.24 per hour
12 Month Contract position
The APS5 Local Community Connectors will seek to address the needs specific to local and remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families living in Alice Springs (Mparntwe) and the surrounding communities. This role is underpinned by two key work principles: Cultural Safety and trauma informed practice.
Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

• Working with service providers and participants, gathering and verifying relevant information,
• Helping and assisting with access decisions and plan development, ensuring successful plan implementation and maintaining community support.
• Working in partnership with the local communities, supporting inclusive communities and respecting the culture of each community.
• Monitoring participant plans, ensuring effective implementation and expenditure of the supports throughout the life of the plan.
• Undertaking check-ins with participants, delivering and submitting evidence and information and varying a participants plan if required.

• Highly developed verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to write in a way that is clear, appropriate and readily understood by the target audience
• A demonstrated understanding of the unique issues affecting and impacting upon the health of Aboriginal people

Desirable Criteria

• Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people who speak multiple local languages such as Arrernte, Luritja/Pintupi, Pitjantjatjara, Warlpiri and others from the Alice Springs area are encouraged to apply.
• Familiarity with NDIS services and the local care providers including referral pathways, services and advocacy
• Demonstrated ability in implementing, monitoring and evaluating accreditation standards
• Ability to understand, interpret and report on client data related to client health outcomes

• Pre-Engagement Check - this is a mandatory pre-employment security screening process.
