The Role
The APS6 Project Support Officer – Risk and Performance implements, manages and improves the Land Domain Capability (LDC) Risk and Performance Framework as detailed in the Program Risk and Issues Manual (PgRIM). The role involves identifying and reviewing capability risks against the Army Business Plan and providing management options, which include treatments, controls and mitigations to risk owners.
The APS6 Project Support Officer – Risk and Performance manages the Risk Workshops for Land Capability and is a member of the preparedness and people risk workshops. The Assistant Director Risk and Performance ensures risk briefs and documents are prepared for the Land Capability Steering Groups and to meet Service level reporting in accordance with the LDC Battle Rhythm. The role requires broad engagement with a variety of stakeholders and for leadership to guide the risk team.
About our Team
The Risk and Performance and Risk Team is part of Land Domain Capability Management. Synchronisation of the LDC risk with the LDC performance and governance teams is critical to realise the complete LDC Framework. The whole team integration allows for consistency in risk reporting upwards and, as part of continuous improvement, greater efficiencies in demands for information and reporting from the Land Programs.
The LCD Risk Team is part of Army Business Plan Risk Management. The close engagement of the LDC risk team with the preparedness and people risk teams is critical to both influence and to understand the impact of preparedness and people on capability; as well as identify critical controls across Land Domain Risk that have the greatest benefits to Army.
Our Ideal Candidate
Our ideal candidate will be a proficient Risk and Performance professional experienced in managing performance and risk. Certification with a recognised risk body would be highly desired but not essential. The candidate will be proficient in the use of various risk methodologies, including bow ties risk assessments, and have sufficient knowledge and experience to apply the most appropriate assessment and methodology to manage risk.
Our ideal candidate is able to engage and influence a broad range of stakeholders within Capability Programs, Land Capability Division and Army. Our ideal candidate is proficient in a number of office software systems, such as Objective, Microsoft Excel, Teams and Power Point to develop professional presentations, briefs and reports in a timely manner. Our ideal candidate is team focused and supports information flow to ensure consistency; efficiencies and continuous improvements are achievable within the Chief of Staff – Land Capability Division Branch.
