Seeking an experienced, highly motivated Writer/Editor to work within the Defence Aviation Safety Authority – Defence Flight Safety Bureau. As part of the Publishing and Multimedia team you will exercise your writing and editing expertise to help enhance the safety of military aviation. You will identify opportunities to inform and educate about Defence aviation safety, assisting in the development of a range of communications and media products.
Specific duties include:
- Provide specialist writing and editing support for the development of a range of internal and external military aviation safety communication and media products.
- Perform research, analyse information and liaise with stakeholders and subject matter experts to identify opportunities for education and promotion of Defence aviation safety.
- Generate high-quality, complex, targeted communication, including Defence Aviation Safety publications, reports and web content to achieve agreed outcomes.
- Work as part of a small team to deliver print and digital aviation safety campaigns.
The Defence Aviation Safety Authority (DASA) is responsible for enhancing and promoting the safety of military aviation through the implementation of a Defence Aviation Safety Program that promotes a generative safety culture and independently assures the effective management of Defence aviation safety risks.
DASA is a complex organisation consisting of Headquarters (HQ) elements and Directorates providing aviation safety assurance and specialist engineering services to the Defence aviation community.
The organisation has a strength of around 300 personnel, made up of Australian Defence Force members and Australian Public Servants, and is physically located in Melbourne VIC, Canberra ACT, and Amberley QLD.
