Currently, there are around 4.3 million Australians with a disability. The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 600,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need. The NDIA is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and will mean a peace of mind for every Australian.

A new role awaits

The Provider Engagement Branch is seeking a passionate and motivated APS5 Provider Engagement Officer to join our team.

The branch works with stakeholders to build a stable and sustainable provider market. They support the NDIS market to grow and deliver high-quality supports for our participants. The branch is responsible for establishing processes enabling appropriate and effective market engagement, management of provider exits and contributes to co-design activities involving key market segments.

In this role, you will play a pivotal part in the team providing support to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for maintaining positive key stakeholder relationships and be able to engage with various stakeholders utilising your expertise communication and engagement skills. You will be able to monitor and identify areas for capacity building activities and training for Provider Engagement staff.

Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with the planning of Provider Engagement activities and assisting in the delivery and evaluation of Provider Engagement approaches.
  • Working with state and local governments, providers, carers, participants and mainstream organisations to identify, analyse and resolve local transition challenges.
  • Identifying information needs of providers relating to provider policy changes, rules and processes.
  • Designing practices and resources to effectively implement the NDIA Provider Engagement strategy.

You will demonstrate the ability of your strong communications skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders. You are able to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as the ability to work autonomously. You will be confident in providing support and guidance to key stakeholders on Agency compliance, policies and procedures.

While this role is ideally performed from Hurstville, Wollongong, Charlestown – NSW, Brisbane, Cairns, Townsville – QLD, Geelong – VIC and Adelaide – SA , remote working arrangements may be considered. We intend to fill this role in an ongoing capacity, however non-ongoing roles up to 12 months with a possibility of extension of up to two years may be offered.

Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police History check, Worker Screening check and/or Working with Children Check (where required) and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship.
