The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 600,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need. The NDIA is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and will mean a peace of mind for every Australian.A new role awaitsThe Provider Engagement Branch has an opportunity for an APS5 Provider Engagement Officer to join their team.The Branch works with stakeholders to build a stable and sustainable provider market that serves the needs of all participants, supporting the NDIS market to grow and deliver high quality supports.Where you can add value The APS5 Provider Engagement Officer is responsible for supporting providers to operate successfully in the Scheme. The successful candidate will be required to respond to provider requests for information and support and undertake related administrative tasks. Attending meetings with providers and delivery of education sessions to providers will also be required.Responsibilities of the role may include, but are not limited to:-
  • Identifying information needs of providers relating to provider policy changes, rules and processes.
  • Contributing to the design of resources and engagement activity to effectively implement the NDIA Provider Engagement strategy.
  • Delivering information and education to NDIS providers across a range of formats.
  • Preparing draft replies to ministerial and parliamentary correspondence and briefs
Enough about us, let’s talk about youExcellent verbal and written communication skills are key to success in this role. The successful candidate must be confident in public speaking and be able to present information effectively to a wide range of stakeholders. Attention to detail and experience with Microsoft Suite is required.You should have a contemporary attitude towards people with disabilities and have a comprehensive understanding of disabilities and their impact on individuals.An understanding of service delivery within the Scheme will be highly regarded.Your NDIA ExperienceWe work as one team. While this role is ideally performed from TAS - Launceston or VIC - Geelong, remote working arrangements may be considered.
