Currently, there are around 4.3 million Australians with a disability. The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 600,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need. The NDIA is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and will mean a peace of mind for every Australian.

This is a fast paced, varied role that is both exciting and fulfilling. This is not your standard recruiter role as you will work with and educate hiring managers on best practice recruitment processes to empower them to recruit top talent.

Where you can add value
As an APS5 Recruitment Officer within the Recruitment and Staff Development Branch, you will be placed within a team requiring both cooperative and collaborative work with different members. You will be required to liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders in a representational role on behalf of the team.

Your responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Attraction and sourcing of candidates to create pipelines of talent to support the Agency to meet its objectives.
  • Partnering and communicating with key stakeholders to facilitate to help them deliver end to end recruitment services.
  • Use of corporate systems to maintain employee records and process personnel action
  • Responsibility for the new employee placements, onboarding and complete employee paperwork ensuring compliance with current legislation
  • Creating reports from varied HR systems to suggest and implement new ways of recruiting talent. 

Enough about us, let’s talk about you

This position is suited to a motivated and experienced Recruitment Officer. We are looking for people to suggest new ways of working, and implement process improvements, all the while developing talent pipeline strategies with hiring managers and business areas.

You will need to have the ability to manage your own work, including all administration and record keeping.

This is a critical role in our organisation and the successful person will have strong organisational and processing skills, highly developed interpersonal and communication skills and excellent time management and attention to detail.

Remote working arrangements may be considered while performing this role. We intend to fill this role in an ongoing capacity, however, non-ongoing roles up to 12 months may be offered.

Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police History check, Worker Screening check and/or Working with Children Check (where required) and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship.
