Under broad supervision, positions at the APS 5 level will:
- either individually or as part of a team, undertake performance statements audits varying in complexity;
- provide high level assistance in the conduct of audits;
- provide professional or technical support;
- assist in drafting audit strategies/reports/plans;
- develop and maintain effective client relationships;
- conduct analytical problem solving and evaluate government programs and administration; and
- make a positive contribution to the development of the Performance Statements Audit Services Group.
Under broad guidance, positions at the APS 6 level will:
- contribute the delivery of complex performance statements audit tasks and audit products;
- supervise, mentor and support the professional development of more junior staff;
- exercise sound judgment to assess the value of audit evidence and form audit opinions and recommendations;
- provide high level professional and technical advice;
- manage client relationships; and
- make a positive contribution to the development of the Performance Statements Audit Services Group.

Eligibility
Citizenship – To be eligible for employment with the ANAO, applicants must be an Australian citizen.
Security Clearance – The Australian community requires the highest level of integrity from ANAO employees. The preferred applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the level specified above.
