Excellent communications skills with the ability to understand the audience and tailor communication style andmessage accordingly. Strategic thinking, including understanding the work environment and how political, social, environmental,cultural and other factors may impact their work. The ability to communicate with influence including listening actively and articulating both written and verbalmessages. Demonstrated ability to build effective professional networks and liaise with internal stakeholders. An ability to adapt to change, including dealing positively with uncertainty. An ability to contribute to high performing teams. A commitment to learn new skills.
APS6 Policy Officer
Identifies broader factors, trends and influences that may impact on the team's work objectives. Considers theramifications of issues and longer-term impact of own work and work area. Proactively offers assistance for a mutually beneficial relationship. Leadership skills and willingness to mentor junior staff. Advanced communication skills, including experience drafting high quality documentation for a Senior executiveand Ministerial audience
