Currently, there are around 4.3 million Australians with a disability. The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 600,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need. The NDIA is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and will mean a peace of mind for every Australian.
A new role awaits
The Provider Engagement Branch is seeking a passionate and motivated APS6 Provider Engagement Officer to join our team.
The branch works with stakeholders to build a stable and sustainable provider market. They support the NDIS market to grow and deliver high-quality supports for our participants. The branch is responsible for establishing processes enabling appropriate and effective market engagement, management of provider exits and contributes to co-design activities involving key market segments.
Where you can add value In this role, you will play an influential part in the team being responsible for building and maintaining key stakeholder relationships. You will develop and implement strategies to engage with providers improving the provider market. You will monitor and evaluate provider performance and be able to identify and resolve any transitional challenges.
Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
  • Being a contact for key providers whilst supporting provider market and NDIS provider process.
  • Supervising and developing staff at lower classification levels, assisting in building team capacity through leading, coaching and feedback.
  • Working closely with key stakeholders including State and Local Governments, providers, carers, people with disability and mainstream organisations to address local provider challenges, including provider exits.
  • Supporting the development and promotion of resources that enable sector development and improve the NDIA’s understanding of the provider environment and experience.

While this role is ideally performed from Perth – WA, Geelong – VIC, Darwin – NT, Brisbane, Cairns & Townsville - QLD, remote working arrangements may be considered. We intend to fill this role in an ongoing capacity, however non-ongoing roles up to 12 months with a possibility of extension of up to two years may be offered.
Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police History check, Worker Screening check and/or Working with Children Check (where required) and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship.
