Our client is seeking to engage an APS6 Technical Advisor.
Location: Canberra, ACT
Contract Length: 12 months
Eligibility/Security Requirement: Applicants must be Australian Citizens
Pay Rate: $60.26/Hourly excluding superannuation
About the Team
The Technical Advisory Branch is part of the Operations and Support Division. The Technical Advisory Branch Team (TAB) is responsible for providing specialist technical/clinical and operational advice in relation to complex and novel cases, and support requests provides nuanced, sensitive, and high quality 'specialised clinical and technical' advice that is aligned with relevant legislation and policies to ensure supports meet participants varied and sometimes novel or complex support needs.
The team drives consistency in the application of the Agency’s reasonable and necessary planning decisions and Access decision making frameworks as outlined in the Agency’s Rules, tools, and operational guidelines to help facilitate the achievement of participant and scheme outcomes.
About the Role
The APS6 Technical Advisory is required to provide detailed technical, professional, policy, operational support and advice in relation to complex problems. Where required, the role will coordinate and assist in the strategic planning, program and project management and policy development.
The position is a team membership position that may be required to perform work that involves team leadership and management responsibilities requiring the setting of priorities and managing workflows of a team.
The APS6 Technical Advisory has reasonable autonomy and accountability to exercise both initiative and judgment to interpret legislation and policy, in the application of practices and procedures to achieve outcomes within the functions.
Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
- Providing subject matter expertise using a coaching and mentoring approach, advising on the most appropriate supports to achieve participant outcomes.
- Managing sensitive conversations and situations associated with approval of funding.
- Liaising and working with stakeholders, delegates, partners and providers to ensure consistent decision making and outcome achievement.
- Providing high quality written and telephone advice and record keeping.

- Registered Nursing (must be eligible for AHPRA registration),
