Strategic Information And Technical Advisor

• Contract to Feb 2026 + extension options
• Canberra based role
• Current baseline clearance required

Responsibilities: The Strategic Information and Technical Advisor will be responsible for providing expert advice and support to a Federal Government Department on ICT services, system architecture, and product recommendations. The key responsibilities include:
Strategic Advice:

• Provide timely advice and strategic support to a Government Department regarding ICT services and recommendations from the Outsourced Service Provider.
• Advise on Service Oriented Architecture, UX principles, solution design, and integration patterns for enterprise and web-based systems.

Technical Expertise:

• Offer technical advice on Cloud services (predominantly Azure), COTS, and SaaS products.
• Ensure compliance with Defence Security Protective Framework (DSPF), Information Security Manual (ISM), and Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF).

Business Improvement and Technical Assurance:

• Contribute to strategic risk assessment of corporate systems and Technical services.
• Provide technical expertise in tender evaluations, software licensing, costing, and Intellectual Property considerations.

Strategic Planning and Risk Mitigation:

• Support the development and maintenance of ICT strategies.

Performance Management and Monitoring:

• Provide advice and support on ICT performance metrics.
• Assist in monitoring and reporting OSP performance against KPIs.

Documentation:

• Facilitate ICT information exchanges between stakeholders.
• Review, update, and develop ICT documentation as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Proven experience as a strategic system and product advisor in information technology.
• Familiarity with Defence Security Protective Framework and related security protocols.
• Expertise in Cloud services, solution design, and integration patterns.
• Strong knowledge of business improvement, change management, and Technical assurance.
