About the Centre
Here at Hawthorn we offer complimentary memberships to all employees and also across all Victorian YMCA facilities. About the role
We're looking for qualified Aqua Aerobics/Fitness instructors to join our passionate Health & Wellness team at Hawthorn Aquatic & Leisure Centre, with permanent/ongoing classes available for the most suitable applicant.
Group Fitness is a large part of what makes us who we are and what we can offer to our loyal and engaged community, with our core focus in this space being to provide engaging, fun and enjoyable class to our membership base and local community.
As an Aqua instructor, this is a great opportunity to make a positive impact on our large community by delivering an alternative type of physical activity and join a team who are passionate about making a difference to people who attend this facility. Our Aqua classes currently on offer include Deep Water Running, Aqua Aerobics and Gentle Water Exercise.
Each class is taken in the morning during the week and on weekends, with the potential to expand to evening classes, so a candidate who has availability during the mornings and evenings will be highly regarded.
This is a casual position and the hourly rate is $68.04 + Super.
About you
We are looking for enthusiastic people who can develop rapport with a wide range of members while fostering a commitment to their improved Health and Wellbeing. This is undertaken by conducting safe, appropriate and engaging group fitness classes. You will be relied upon to motivate, educate and enhance each participant’s experience.
Your key responsibilities would be:
- Develop enjoyable Aqua Fitness classes, engaging with our members and patrons while developing rapport and trust with class attendees
- Being reliable, prepared and committed to each class, including the set up and pack down of each session
- Ensuring safe and responsible use of all equipment used during the class by members and patrons
- Promoting elements of water safety through the delivery of high quality Aqua programs.
