Personnel Area: Brisbane Infrastructure

Branch: Program Planning and Integration

Salary Range: (Band 4) AUD $77,578 to $83,500 per annum plus 14% superannuation, 17.5% leave loading plus benefits (Remuneration stated is for the full-time positions)

Location: Combination of field based, office based (Yeerongpilly or Chermside) and occasional flexibility to work from home.

The Role

The Technical Officer Arboriculture responds to program and customer park and street tree requests, resolves complex arboriculture issues, prepares arboriculture reports and assists in the planning and management of the arboriculture maintenance programs.

You will provide technical advice on arboriculture asset management issues to internal and external customers, ensuring outcomes meet Brisbane City Council arboriculture standards. You may also be required to liaise with the public and ward office staff using your well-developed written and oral communication skills.

To be successful you will have:
a Certificate III in Horticulture (Arboriculture) or equivalent and relevant experience in the field
demonstrated ability to conduct tree condition and risk assessment inspections
sound interpersonal and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to prepare arboriculture reports and written responses
experience with customers across a range of stakeholders including dealing with challenging situations
ability to work autonomously in order to plan and prioritise work loads to ensure competing demands and deadlines are met
a current C or CA class driver’s licence is a requirement for this role.
