Job Title: Architectural Draftsperson
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Architectural Draftsperson to join our team. As an Architectural Draftsperson, you will play a crucial role in supporting Construction Managers, Architects, and Surveyors in various stages of the planning and organization process. Your responsibilities will include interpreting plans, regulations, and codes of practice, preparing detailed drawings, coordinating works programs, and ensuring compliance with specifications and standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities:
1.Assist Construction Managers, Architects, and Surveyors:
•Collaborate with project stakeholders to understand and fulfill design requirements.
•Provide support in the planning and organization of construction projects.
2.Interpret Plans, Regulations, and Codes of Practice:
•Analyze and interpret architectural plans, building codes, and regulatory requirements.
•Ensure that all drawings and specifications comply with relevant standards.
3.Prepare Preliminary Sketches and Working Drawings:
•Create preliminary sketches to visualize design concepts.
•Develop detailed working drawings and specifications for construction projects.
4.Edit and Revise Plans, Maps, Charts, and Drawings:
•Review and modify drawings as necessary to incorporate changes and updates.
•Ensure accuracy and completeness of all design documentation.
5.Coordinate Works Programs:
•Collaborate with project teams to establish and manage works programs.
•Monitor and update project schedules to ensure timely completion.
6.Inspect Work and Materials for Compliance:
•Conduct regular inspections to verify that work and materials meet specifications.
•Address any discrepancies and work closely with the team to resolve issues.
7.Calculate Costs and Estimate Time Scales:
•Utilize cost estimation methods to calculate project expenses.
•Estimate time scales for project completion and report to relevant stakeholders.
8.Collect Data Using Surveying Instruments and Photogrammetric Equipment:
•Utilize surveying instruments and photogrammetric equipment to collect accurate data.
•Work with surveying teams to gather information for design and planning.
9.Perform Routine Computations and Plot Preliminary Data:
•Carry out routine computations related to design and construction.
•Plot preliminary data to assist in the development of design concepts.
Qualifications & Skills:
•Suitable certification or relevant experience.
•Proven experience as an Architectural Draftsperson or similar role.
•Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant drafting software.
•Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and construction standards.
•Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
•Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work.
Experience: At least two years of experience in a similar environment.
