Job description

Parks Victoria are looking for an Area Chief Ranger to provide leadership, support and operational decision making to enable delivery of environmental and visitor focused maintenance activities.

About the role

The Area Chief Ranger, Northern Peninsula has a team of 16 Ranger staff that deliver all aspects of land management. The Area Chief Ranger provides strategic direction and leadership to three direct reports and be accountable for financial management, stakeholder engagement, works coordination, safety, work centre management and customer/ministerial enquiries.

The Northern Peninsula landscape includes some of Victorias most scenic locations such as Arthurs Seat State Park, Devilbend Natural Features Reserve, The Pines Flora and Fauna Reserve, Langwarrin Flora and Fauna Reserve, Frankston Nature Conservation Reserve and French Island National Park.

We're looking for someone with:

  • Demonstrated high level judgement experience in analytical problem solving and decision making
  • Demonstrated experience in multiple portfolio management
  • Demonstrated experience in engagement and stakeholder management is essential
  • Experience in leading and managing team performance
