The Role:
Reporting to the Regional General Manager, we are seeking a talented and dedicated Area Manager to lead our team and drive long-term revenue and profitability.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Managing sales, volume growth, and cost control to achieve budgeted profits for our company-owned restaurants, while continuously monitoring forecasts.
- Utilizing business information and reports to identify opportunities for revenue maximization and inform strategic decision-making.
- Developing and empowering restaurant leadership teams through comprehensive training, fostering effective management skills and utilizing your subject matter expertise.
- Ensuring the right leaders are strategically placed in each restaurant to foster cohesive teams and achieve commercial objectives for both new and existing locations.
- Addressing performance issues in accordance with company policies and procedures, supporting the growth and development of team members.
- Cultivating an exceptional operational environment in each restaurant, ensuring adherence to standards and delivering an outstanding customer experience.
- Enhancing the capacity and performance of restaurant leadership teams through effective training and performance assessments.
Developing annual restaurant plans for your territory, setting clear goals and objectives aligned with our company's overall business and revenue objectives. - Creating a safe and engaging work environment that complies with health and safety regulations, food safety standards, employment agreements, and certified training requirements.
- Proactively managing costs of goods sold (COGS) by implementing accurate forecasting methods and controlling wastage.
- Implementing labor management practices to optimize labor costs, leveraging forecasting data and performance metrics.
- Supporting successful launches of new restaurants by collaborating with key stakeholders, meeting labor budgets, and achieving operational targets.
What You'll Need:
- A passion for the food industry and a commitment to excellence.
- Essential experience in leading, managing, and developing teams within the hospitality sector (such as restaurants, cafes, pubs, or bars).
- Strong commercial acumen and a proven track record of driving revenue growth across multiple sites within the hospitality industry.
- The ability to set clear goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) and exceed them by engaging, training, and empowering your teams effectively.
- Proficiency in restaurant compliance, occupational health and safety (OH&S), food safety standards, and metrics required to meet compliance KPIs.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build successful relationships with various stakeholders.
- Self-motivation, personal accountability, and a strong desire to achieve results.
- Exceptional change management and performance management skills.
- A proven ability to identify and develop talent, ensuring the right individuals are deployed in the appropriate roles.
