AddressWe are seeking a suitably experienced Art Technology Assistant to join our College on a Fixed-Term Part-Time contract for the remainder of the 2024 school year.
This position supports Visual Art, Visual Communication, Media Studies and Studio Art teachers to provide a safe, clean and effective learning environment.
The Art Assistant will fully understand the college's Child Safety requirements and ensure that all elements of the learning program promote the safety, well-being, and inclusion of all children across the three campuses.
The days and hours of work are Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m - 0.60 FTE.
Key responsibilities include:
- Prepare and maintain an inventory of resources.
- Store and stock take art resources
- In collaboration with art teachers, establish a process for the ordering of art resources.
- Ensure art equipment stocks are maintained and order art resources under the direction of art teachers.
- Ensure a safe, efficient, and clean presentation of art rooms and materials is maintained.
- Organise the laundry for aprons and smocks.
- Clean art equipment
- Prepare displays for exhibitions.
- Hang and frame artwork.
- Prepare materials for classes, including cutting of wood and lino
- Ensure that lino-cutting tools are sharp.
- Fire and stack the kiln
- Maintain the safe storage of chemicals.
The successful candidate will have the following experience, skills and attributes:
- Experience in a similar role.
- Art background would be advantageous.

- Ability to work autonomously and well as part of a team
- Able to interact with a wide range of people; build and maintain relationships.
- Able to work under pressure with conflicting priorities.

- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
