An opportunity is available at our Hunters Hill campus for a qualified Art Therapist to join our dynamic inter-disciplinary team and undertake art therapy activities for the enjoyment of our Residents in a well-resourced and innovative environment.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Holistically develop and maintain better practice art therapy programs
- Establish and coordinate outcome based therapeutic art programs
- Develop and maintain appropriate documentation for resident care needs
Essential Criteria:
- Masters in Art Therapy or equivalent
- Be eligible for membership of ANZATA and comply with the professional standards of the Creative Therapy profession.
- Ability to effectively supervise staff (e.g. volunteers, students etc.)
- Excellent communications skills (written, verbal and interpersonal skills)
- Operate effectively in a team and autonomously
- Excellent organisational skills and time management
- Computer skills across a range of programs include Microsoft Word and Excel.
Desired Criteria:
- Experience working in an aged care setting
- Experience in therapeutic care planning
The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, an ability to work within a team and have a passion and genuine desire to work with an older population. Previous experience working within aged care and with people living with dementia will be highly regarded.
