The Role
As a Project Risk and Assurance Officer/Manager within the Portfolio Branch, you will play a critical role in supporting the enabling functions of one of the largest organisations within the National Intelligence Community.
Within the Branch, the role will be accountable under broad direction to perform and achieve complex risk identification and analysis work within an integrated workforce. They are accountable to ensure they have knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and ASD’s mission and policy requirements.
Portfolio Branch is seeking multiple candidates to fill vacancies at the ASD5, ASD6 or EL1 level.
About our Team
The Portfolio Branch manages ASD’s portfolio of both approved and unapproved capability investments to provide a strategic overview of all the programs and projects underway within ASD, and ensure they align with its strategic aims. We are seeking energetic, highly organised and task-orientated ASD5/6/EL1 Risk and Assurance Officers to support the Portfolio Delivery Assurance Section within the branch to provide oversight and independent assurance on ASD’s capability portfolio to assure ASD, broader Defence, and government that capability projects are meeting expectations.

Key attributes and experience we are looking for:
- Experience in risk management and/or assurance and audit reporting

- Proven ability to undertake research and analysis to discover patterns anomalies and trends in data, advising on data quality, using relevant business systems or applications
- An innovative and adaptive thinker
- Excellent communication skills and proven ability to liaise with various levels
- A team player who values teamwork and performs well in a diverse and integrated environment
At the EL1 level, we are looking for individuals with the proven ability to lead a team, and experience within the Risk and Assurance environment.
The ability to work in a changing environment with the ability to be flexible and work with competing priorities is imperative.
You will also be able to work independently with reasonable autonomy and accountability for the achievement of outcomes of your work.
