The Role
The Project Manager position/s will contribute to establishing important project management functions, within an integrated workforce, providing input into the development of transformational business outcomes, whilst keeping key stakeholders informed. The Project Manager will manage a diverse range of technical projects. The Project Manager will be responsible for contributing to the planning and implementation of projects, including defining the scope and requirements, developing plans and schedules, managing the project’s budget, overseeing and planning resource allocation and work packages, managing risks and issues and communicating formally and informally on the project’s progress.
This position will include (but not limited to): application of Project Management Methodologies and Practices, Complex Problem Solving, Risks, Actions, Issues, Project Management Planning, Budget forecasting and management, Scheduling, Procurement activities and contributing to the Branch strategic planning for program and project management.

We are seeking energetic, highly organised and task-orientated ASD4/5/6 Project Officers to undertake a broad range of work in our corporate, project delivery and business areas in support of ASD’s mission. As a corporate or project delivery professional at ASD, you will play a critical role in supporting the internal infrastructure of one of the largest organisations within the National Intelligence Community.
Within the division, the role will be accountable to perform and achieve complex procedural, operational, administrative and business support work within an integrated workforce. They are accountable to ensure they have knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements.

Our Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate/s will work directly to the Directors across various Divisions across ASD and must have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. Critical to the success of this role, this position requires candidate/s that are proactive, uses initiative and judgement in the interpretation of policy and application of practices and procedures, the ability to multi-task and communicate effectively.
The candidate will be required to identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholders’ needs and expectations to achieve outcomes and results according to their requirements. The Project Manager/s will be highly organised, dynamic, outcome orientated individual/s with excellent communication skills who can think critically and utilise their excellent problem solving skills, as well as undertake negotiations, delegate effectively, and make timely decisions.
