Hourly Rate: $57-59 per hour (including casual load) - Flexible depending on experience/background.
About the Job:
Join our esteemed team as a Reward and Benefits Adviser, operating at the ASO6 level within the South Australian Government. This temporary role, lasting until December 2024, offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to our organization's success. You will provide meticulous analysis and guidance on reward matters under the direction of our experienced Reward and Benefits Lead.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide expert support to our People Team with considered remuneration and Benefits advice.
Contribute to the review and promotion of our benefit programs, enhancing our Employee Value Proposition.
Participate in the Remuneration Panel by completing job evaluations and providing classification advice.
Conduct market research to ensure our Reward and Benefits practice is contemporary and competitive.
Support cyclical activities, including the annual Remuneration Review, policy reviews, and process enhancements.
Your Success in this Role:
Tertiary qualification in Business, HR, Commerce, or Mathematical Sciences.
Substantial experience in an advisory role, preferably in HR, with exposure to public sector/service or an environment with industrialized remuneration arrangements.
Strong business acumen and critical thinking skills.
Excellent research, reporting, and analytical skills.
Enthusiasm for continuous learning and a willingness to specialize in Reward and Benefits.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formula development and basic macros.
Desirable: Experience using the Mercer CED job evaluation methodology.
Desirable: Experience or ability to quickly learn HRIS, salary benchmarking tools, and other technologies.

Build on our Reward and Benefits knowledge base with accurate and timely analysis.
Continuous learning and improving processes to drive efficiencies and productivity.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
Essential:
Tertiary qualification in Business, HR, Commerce, Mathematics, or other quantitative related discipline.
Substantial experience in an advisory role, preferably in HR, with exposure to public sector/service or an environment with industrialized remuneration arrangements.
Strong business acumen and critical thinking ability.
Excellent research, reporting, and analytical skillset.
High standard of written and verbal English.
Enthusiasm for continuous learning and improvement, and a willingness to specialize in Reward and Benefits.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to develop/understand formulas and basic macros.
Ability to work autonomously under general instruction.
Strong knowledge of contemporary HR/payroll principles, practices, and legislation, including the ability to understand and interpret remuneration provisions.
Desirable:
Experience using the Mercer CED job evaluation methodology.
Experience or ability to quickly learn and master HRIS, salary benchmarking tools, and other technologies (e.g., Microsoft Power BI).
