An asparagus farm based in the Koo Wee Rup region of Victoria requires 100 casual workers for the upcoming Asparagus Season from July 2024 through to April 2025.
There are three harvest sites in operation including Koo Wee Rup Victoria, Loxton South Australia and Ti Tree Northern Territory. Your job posting may be at any site.
Job activities include harvesting asparagus in an open field, using a long-blade knife, taking care to harvest product at the right length. This action is repetitive, and requires constant bending and lifting, therefore good overall mobility is desirable.
You must be able to commit to the whole season to be successful with your application. Harvest scheduling is heavily dependent on weather, so it is essential to be flexible and work a variety of shifts, including early morning and night shifts. You will be required to work an 8-10 hour shift per day in all weather conditions, with start times varying from as early as 1am. Working hours will vary daily and applicants must be available to work 7 days a week. It is desirable for applicants to have a current driver’s licence and access to their own vehicle to allow them to work the various hours.
Workers will be paid under the Horticulture Award 2020. No experience is necessary.
Applicants can only apply through the below application form (emailed applications will not be considered) :
